The launch ceremony of 2023 "A Date with China" international media tour was held in Haikou, the capital city of South China's Hainan province, on Tuesday.

The first route of the tour, with the theme of "Advancing civilization exchanges, promoting mutual economic benefits", led China-based foreign media correspondents, foreign internet influencers and domestic journalists to Hainan, where they explored the economic development and regional cooperation under Belt and Road Initiative in cities such as Haikou, Wuzhishan, Lingshui and Sanya.

The tour visited the qilou historical and cultural streets on Monday to learn about the history of exchanges between Hainan and Southeast Asia. It also visited the Guangdong-Hainan Railway Ferry Terminal, the first cross-sea passage in China. The terminal, as an essential part of the province's transportation, connects the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Hainan.

"A Date with China" this year will focus on showcasing the opportunities and achievements of China's modernization to the world.
