Youth Day special: Young photographer clicks with the elderly

Xu Kai, a Shaanxi province native, has been taking pictures for seniors in his hometown for years.

Born in 1990s, Xu realized the power of the internet and began making short videos in 2020 and then turned himself into an influencer.

Xu's pictures and videos have not only helped the local elderly people create some good memories but also touched hearts of his more than two million followers on short-video platforms Douyin and Kuaishou.

His team, called Deshan Studio, gives back to the society by running a food bank-alike community kitchen, serving those in need.
