Apart from tasting authentic Chinese cuisine and fragrant liquor, visitors of China Festival 2023 were also given the opportunity to experience the latest environmentally friendly electric vehicles from China, learn about the natural ecology and local customs of Yunnan province, and enjoy a blend of traditional and modern Chinese costumes.

A Japanese volunteer for the festival said such events can help people understand the culture of each other's countries, and should be held more frequently in the future.

"On such occasions, people hope to see something new and exciting. So, if you showcase aspects of Chinese culture that Japanese people may not be familiar with, the festival might attract more Japanese citizens," the volunteer said, citing the display of costumes of Chinese ethnic groups as an example.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the signing of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship. China Festival 2023, held in this important year, has special significance, said Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao.
