Winners of inaugural Golden Panda Awards revealed in home province of giant panda

The winners of the inaugural Golden Panda Awards, which honor global film, TV, documentary and animation achievements, were unveiled on Wednesday in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan province, which is known as the home of the giant panda.

Among the winners, "Jojo Rabbit" won the Best Film award, and the first season of "1923" took home the Best TV Drama award.

In the film category, Liu Jiangjiang claimed the Best Director award for "Lighting Up The Stars," and the Best Screenplay award went to "The Father."

Nahuel Perez Biscayart and Penelope Cruz were respectively honored with the Best Actor and Best Actress awards. Zhang Songwen and Ni Hongjie were recognized as Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Actress in a Suppoprting Role, respectively.

In the TV drama category, Zhang Yongxin won the Best Director award for "The Age of Awakening," and the Best Screenplay award went to the third season of "My Brilliant Friend." Lei Jiayin and Margherita Mazzucco were awarded the Best Actor and Best Actress titles, and Wang Jingchun and Sarah Snook received the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress honors.

"The Miracle Panda" won the Best Documentary award, and "Yao-Chinese Folktales" secured the Best Animation award.

The awards ceremony was hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the People's Government of Sichuan province.
