Cultural, scenic attractions boost holiday tourism consumption

The number of domestic tourism trips hit 474 million during this year's Spring Festival holiday, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Sunday.

The figure marked a 34.3 percent growth year-on-year and a 19 percent increase compared with the same period from 2019.

Domestic tourism-related revenue hit 632.69 billion yuan ($87.96 billion) in total during the Spring Festival holiday for the year of dragon, a sharp increase of 47.3 percent year-on-year and a 7.7 percent growth from the same period in 2019.

Meanwhile, about 6.83 million inbound and outbound trips were made, including 3.6 million outbound trips and 3.23 million inbound trips during the eight-day holiday.
