Artist Li Chen portrays the moment when a Peking Opera actress is preparing for her performance in the classic piece, Farewell to My Concubine.

The delicate costumes and headwear are also depicted by the artists in their paintings.

Peking Opera, with a history of more than 200 years, was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010. It brings together art forms such as singing, dancing, martial arts and acrobatics.

Rhythm on Canvas, an exhibition series initiated by the NCPA, has been held for three times, inviting artists to center on traditional Chinese operas.
