The aurora borealis, or northern lights, appeared over Genhe, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. It lasted for about four minutes. Genhe, located in the sub-Arctic circle, is one of the best places in China to observe the aurora. [Photo by Zhang Xiaoyu/For chinadaily.com]
