China-Maldives Friendship Bridge enters new maintenance phase

The China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, a hallmark of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative, has entered a new phase with the launch of its follow-up maintenance and technical assistance project. The project is managed by the China Communications Construction Company Second Harbor Engineering (CCCC Second Harbor Engineering) and is expected to last 36 months.
It includes the bridge's first repair and preventive maintenance, improvement of maintenance records, bridge inspection and evaluation, routine maintenance, and training for Maldivian maintenance technicians.
