On Sunday night during the recent May Day holiday, the skies over Chongqing transformed into a spectacular drone light show inspired by L. Frank Baum's classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Thousands of drones painted the sky with scenes from the novel: a jacaranda elf gently sprinkled light, a golden lion sniffed roses, and a giant ladybug flew toward a scarecrow.

The show's organizing committee said the ode to the timeless tale showcased Chongqing's progress in integrating the low-altitude economy and cultural tourism.

Now a regular feature in the region, the show illuminates the low-altitude airspace where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers converge. Spectators can enjoy the breathtaking views from vantage points at Chaotianmen, Jiangbeizui, and Nanbin Road.
