Heilongjiang sells more grain to Russia

BEIJING -- Northeast China's Heilongjiang province sold 3,000 tons of grain to Russia in the first quarter of this year, a rise of 11 percent on the same period of last year, according to local customs house.

The amount accounted for 36.7 percent of the province's total grain exports of some 8,000 tons for the three-month period.

The total grain exports included 5,000 tons of beans. Their prices averaging $739 per ton, up 9.3 percent year on year.

Of the total grain exports, 7,000 tons were sold by private businesses, down 27.5 percent year on year.
