Celebrity eyebrows: Good pluck, bad pluck

Marcia Cross

Like many women in their 40s, Cross' inner eyelids have begun to droop. Ruder suggests the summer bride go for a higher and longer arch to visually open her eye area. "She looks upset," Ruder says, adding that Cross' brows are much too thin. To encourage brow growth, Ruder suggests Cross purchase castor oil from a health store, warm it every evening and apply it to her brows with a cotton swab.

Steve Carell

His "eyebrows are very hairy, rounded and short on the ends," Ruder says. "They need to be groomed, lengthened, straightened and cleaned." But not too much. Men "should look like men." Ruder says Carell is a funny-enough comic who doesn't need to rely on funny-looking brows.
