Male employees from over 50 well-known enterprises in Shanghai enjoyed one day off on August 3, a date many fashion-minded men have celebrated in recent years as "Men's Day."

It was an editor-in-chief from a men's magazine who first proposed to set August 3 as "Men's Day" three years ago and organized many male celebrities to have a party in Beijing on the day. Since then more people and enterprises paid attention to the special festival and some became faithful supporters of the campaign.

The editor-in-chief said that his initial idea was to raise social concern for men who are exhausted by work and life pressures, but have few occasions to refresh themselves.
