Elephant tips the scales, sets record

A 25-year-old female Asian elephant in a zoo in Chongqing was found to weigh a record 6,345 kilograms, making it the heaviest member of its species in the world.

After searching the Internet last week, zookeepers confirmed that it is the heaviest elephant in the world so far.

They had to bribe the animal with over one ton of fruit to get it to step on the loadometer. The elephant had to stand on the scale for a full minute in order to be weighed.
