To stop his pretty girlfriend from signing up for a beauty contest in Chongqing, a man quarrelled with her for over an hour under the burning noontime sun one day this week before falling down and losing consciousness.

After rushing him to a hospital, the girl was told that the man suffered from serious heatstroke after being in a rage on a very hot day.

Recovering later, the man said he feared that his sweetheart would leave him for someone else during the Miss Chongqing Contest.
