Animals at a zoo in Hohhot, in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, will have a comfortable winter this year thanks to a new electric heating system.

All animals at the zoo kept in big cages during winter, particularly tigers and lions, will benefit from the 4,300-square-kilometre heating supply.

The zoo said it hoped the heating system would encourage people to continue visiting the animals during the winter months.
