Three young men in Zhengzhou of Henan Province have been actively promoting AIDS prevention in bars and public bathrooms for the last two years.

This week, the three young men visited some bars frequented by homosexual men to stage some skit performances with the theme of fighting AIDS.

The volunteers also give AIDS prevention quizzes and present condoms and health pamphlets to those who answer the questions correctly.

The group also set up an office in a residential building and opened a consultation hotline. So far, the hotline has received 23,000 phone calls over past two years.

Some residents said that the three meddle in such affairs simply because they might have nothing else to do, but local health department officials said their work does help spread AIDS prevention knowledge.
