During the meeting chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Okada, Yang and South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung Hwan hold talks to steadily advance the trilateral cooperation based on the Action Plan agreed upon at the Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Summit held in Fukuoka in December 2008, said the ministry in a statement.

The three will exchange views on issues on regional and international situations and make arrangements for the Second Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Summit, it said.

During his stay in China, Okada is also expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.

Okada is scheduled to return to Japan on Tuesday.
