Bus explosion leaves 1 dead, 11 injured in SW China

KUNMING: One person was killed and 11 injured after a blast hit a mini-bus in Southwest China's Yunnan province Saturday, local authorities said Sunday.

The driver of the 19-seat vehicle, which was carrying 19 people, called police and said that a blast took place in Luzhou county at about 4 pm Saturday, according to the media office with the public security bureau of Honghe Autonomous Prefecture of Hani and Yi nationalities, which administers Luzhou.

One person was killed on the spot and eleven others suffered injuries of different degrees. But none of them faces life-threatening situation, according to the media office of Luzhou county government.

Police officers were investigating the accident.
