4.6-magnitude earthquake jolts northern China

BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 4.6 degrees on the Richter scale jolted Yangqu County of Taiyuan city in northern China's Shanxi Province at 8:58 pm Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was 38.2 degrees north latitude and 112.7 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 5 km.

No instant reports of casualties are available.
