Hu holds talks with South Sudanese President

BEIJING - Chinese President Hu Jintao held talks with South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Tuesday afternoon in Beijing.

Kiir is paying a state visit to China from April 23 to 28 at the invitation of President Hu Jintao.

During the visit, Kiir will also meet with China's top legislator Wu Bangguo and Vice-Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday respectively.

China established its diplomatic relationship with South Sudan on July 9, 2011.
