Super Lotto released its top prize of 256 million yuan ($40 million) on Wednesday night, setting a new record for sports lottery in China.
The prize is from one lottery ticket sold in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. No 05556 lottery station on Beimen Road, Kunshan city, sold the winning ticket.
The winning numbers of No 12074 Super Lotto were 10, 22, 23, 30, 32, 01, 07. A news release of the official website of China Sports Lottery shows that the winner spent 100 yuan on it and chose single betting with 50 multiples.
Before this, the biggest jackpot winner of the Super Lotto was 248 million yuan on Oct 29 in 2011. The winner was from Wuhan, capital city of Hubei province. A welfare lottery, Super Lotto, has raised more than 16.6 billion yuan for welfare funds over the past five years.
The country's biggest jackpot of more than 570 million yuan was hit by a "Dual-Colored Ball" ticket buyer in Beijing earlier this month.
