Nanjing Broadcasting Group and Central New Film Group are preparing a large-scale documentary film and TV series called Centennial Nanjing, which is expected to finish shooting and be broadcast by 2014.

The project will include a 90-minute high-definition documentary, and five episodes of high-definition TV documentaries, with 45 minutes each.

The project will present Nanjing — the capital of six dynasties — under the themes of city planning, education, science, traditional protection and the construction of people's livelihood.

Central New Film Group's deputy editor-in-chief and renowned director Shi Jian, whose works include The Potala Palace and Fighting the Invading Army, and Zhou Bing, who is the director of The Forbidden City, will be co-directing Centennial Nanjing.
