Three migrant workers have been invited to be special members of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conferences (CPPCC).

The three special members will advise on issues they are concerned about and put forward their ideas and proposals to other members during the annual meeting of the province's political advisors that opened on Jan 23 afternoon.

"But they do not have the right to vote like other members do. They don't have the right to put forth a proposal, either," said Du Chongnian, a spokesperson of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC.

It is the first time the Guangdong committee of the CPPCC has invited special members to participate in the province's top advisory body's annual session which will end on Jan 28, Du said.

The special members include Chen Qingsong, He Xiaoling and Chen Yun who come from Henan, Jiangxi and Hunan provinces respectively.

All are workers at the forefront of production in their companies and community.

Chen Qingsong, who was born into a farming family in 1984, is now working in a shoe factory in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.

He Xiaoling, a 31-year-old woman, works with the supervision committee of food and medicine in Hengli township in the city of Dongguan, while Chen Yun, 42, works at an automobile parts company in Foshan city.
