BEIJING - Two cold fronts will make temperatures plunge and bring snow to north China over the following three days, weather authorities said Saturday.

Most northern areas will see temperatures drop by four to six degrees Celsius, with temperatures down by eight to 10 degrees Celsius in some parts, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said in a press release on its website.

Light to moderate snow or sleet will fall on Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, parts of northwest and northeast China, most of north China and regions along the Yangtze and Yellow rivers, according to the NMC.

Affected by the cold fronts, overcast days and rains will persist in the eastern part of southwest China, central and western parts of south China and areas south of the Yangtze River, the NMC forecast.
