Official expelled from Party for sex scandal

A government official from Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, was expelled from the Communist Party for using the services of prostitutes during a visit to Beijing.

Qiu Changsheng, vice-director of the Jingshan neighborhood office, was exposed by netizens on April 10 for buying sexual services in early March in Beijing, according to a report in Chinanews.com.

Qiu was detained and punished by Beijing police.

An investigation team was set up by Ouhai district in Wenzhou to examine the case.

On April 1, the district's Commission for Discipline Inspection decided to expel Qiu from the Party according to Party and government rules.
