Former vice governor of Jiangxi probed for bribery

BEIJING - Yao Mugen, former vice governor of East China's Jiangxi province is under investigation for alleged bribe-taking, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said in a statement Tuesday.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China announced in March that Yao was under investigation for suspected disciplinary and law violations.

Yao was removed from his post in April.
