Migrant school tucked away in city

A flag-raising ceremony is launched with more than 500 students in attendance at the playground of a migrant primary school in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shannxi province, at the beginning of new semester on Sept 1, 2014. The privately-funded school is tucked away in a market. Such schools provide the children of some migrant workers with an opportunity to study in the city where their parents work. With the process of urbanization, China now has 300 million migrant workers, which poses a challenge to the welfare system of the cities regarding services such as schools and hospitals.
