HK gov't suspends meeting with Occupy students

19 arrested over clash in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - Hong Kong government on Thursday evening announced that it suspended the first formal meeting with representatives of students participating in the Occupy Central movement originally slated for Friday afternoon.

Carrie Lam, First Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, made the announcement at a press conference, saying the suspension came after the Occupy students launched a new disobedience action plan in the afternoon, which has shaken the basis of the dialogue.
