Three local officials probed for graft

BEIJING - Three Chinese local officials have been indicted by prosecutors for taking bribes, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on Tuesday.

Zhang Likui, former Communist Party of China (CPC) chief of the Zhengzhou Institute of Aeronautical Industry Management, is being probed by local prosecutors in Henan Province for taking bribes.

Lei Lingxiao, former head of the standing committee of Puyang municipal People's Congress, is also being investigated by prosecutors in the province on suspicion of accepting bribes

Local prosecutors in Zhejiang Province have indicted Hong Jiaxiang, former publicity chief and member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, for taking bribes.

The three officials have been placed under "coercive measures." According to China's criminal procedure law, coercive measures include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest.
