Saturday marks the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the "110" police calling system in China.

On January 10, 1986, the Guangzhou public security bureau set up the country's first police calling system. Later, the call number of 110 was used all over the country. People anywhere in China can dial 110 when they need assistance from the police.

Various activities will be held on January 10 to publicize the functions of police personnel.

Related departments will invite ordinary residents to visit local police stations, officials and policemen will go onto the streets to show their rescue skills, teach people how to protect themselves and others in dangerous situations, and also some practical skills such as how to recognize fake money and vocational swindlers.
