BEIJING - Kevin Durant, the youngest NBA scoring title winner, has pledged he will represent the United States at the World Championships in Turkey in August.

Although several NBA stars, including LeBron James, are likely to be absent, Durant declared his will to fight for the US in an interview after a Great Wall training camp during his China tour last Friday.

"Of course, I will fight for my country without any hesitation. I can't wait to play at the World Championships in August for Team USA, it's a great honor for me and I will do what I can do," the 21-year-old, who averaged 30.1 points this season, said.
