Plushenko has not ruled out Sochi: wife

MOSCOW - Russian figure skating star Yevgeny Plushenko has not ruled out competing at the Sochi Olympics despite being banned by the International Skating Union (ISU), his wife insisted on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Plushenko was banned in June and did not appeal within the 21 days allowed, so the ISU confirmed it was upholding its decision.

Plushenkno's wife, producer Yana Rudkovskaya, said her husband was set to ask the ISU to restore his amateur status in the near future.
