Chongqing should establish a museum dedicated to the memory of those killed in bombing raids by the Japanese air force, accurately recording the atrocity and boosting the chances of peace in future, a political adviser said on Monday.

Li Guo, a member of the Chongqing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, told delegates, "The Bombing of Chongqing was a savage act, as vicious as other world-famous historical outrages, such as the London Blitz and the Nanjing Massacre."

He said the museum should be established as quickly as possible.
