Wave for help saves college student

Shen Dailu, buried under debris from the collapsed building, stretched out her right hand from between two concrete slabs and waved for help.

She was lucky - her hand was held tightly by a rescuer and the 21-year-old college student was saved after an ordeal lasting more than eight hours.

But the rescue process was far from easy. Shen's right knee was trapped under a large piece of concrete. When rescuers tried to dig her out, she screamed in pain. "I feel badly hurt" she cried loudly enough for people watching live TV coverage to hear.
