Police detain 5 suspects after Beijing hotel assault

Beijing police detained five suspects, including a man they say assaulted a woman in a hotel hallway, on Saturday, four days after video footage of the incident sparked public outrage.

The five suspects were part of a prostitution ring that uses cards for pimping purposes, a micro blog by the police said on Saturday night, and the attacker mistook the woman for a competitor.

The police have launched a campaign targeting pimping activities at hotels and other public places.
