HK, Macao to cooperate on prisoner transfer

Hong Kong and Macao security departments have agreed to cooperate on mutual transfer of convicts.

According to a press release from the Macao prison Wednesday, there are now 113 Hongkongers in the Macao prison, serving terms ranging from one year and eight months to 25 years.

The two sides voiced the intention of cooperation on prisoner transfer after a closed-door meeting Tuesday between authorities from Macao's general secretariat for security and a delegation of Hong Kong's public security bureau.

They exchanged information on convicts and agreed to hold further discussions in the near future.
