( 2003-06-10 17:07) (9)

The Chinese mainland reports three new SARS deaths, no new SARS case and no suspected cases between 10:00am June 9 to 10:00am June 10, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday.

Two of the fatalities occurred in Beijing, while the third was in the northern province of Shanxi, the ministry said. The death toll from the deadly disease rose to 343 with the new figures.

Beijing has reported neither new confirmed SARS cases nor new suspected SARS cases for three consecutive days.

The number of SARS infections on the mainland has dropped at a

steady clip since the beginning of May, when more than 150 cases

were reported daily.
