An angry husband threatened to bomb the home of a family who formerly employed his wife as a maid after learning that she had contracted a sexually transmitted disease during her tenure with them. He has since been arrested in a police ambush, reports New Express News.

A woman surnamed Zhu, who lives in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou District, called police on August 2 after finding a bomb outside the door to her apartment. A letter attached demanded a meeting with Zhu's husband, Zheng.

The police connected the bomb threat to Ouyang, a 38-year-old maid dismissed by the family in June. In an argument with Zhu, Ouyang screamed that Zheng had slept with her.

After being fired, Ouyang contacted the family again, asking for 30,000 yuan (US$3,614) to treat a venereal disease that she said she caught from Zheng.

She received 6,000 yuan (US$723) after mediation through a subordinate of Zheng's.
Police persuaded Zheng to set up a meeting with the man through his subordinate the next day.

Ouyang's husband was caught in the ambush. He was found to be carrying home-made bombs and he confessed, police said.
