Through-train traffic booming

Passenger traffic on the
through-train running between Hong Kong and Guangzhou has surged in recent days,
now that residents of four cities in Guangdong can apply to visit Hong Kong as
individuals, reports New Express News.
From August 1 to 7, passenger numbers totalled 37,000, almost double that for
the first seven days of June, according to the Tianhe Railway Station checkpoint
in Guangzhou.
Eight pairs of through-trains have been running between the two cities daily
since June 28.
