Man sues woman for harassment
( 2003-08-18 14:52) (China Daily)

A man is suing a woman on charges of sexual harassment in a trial that opened at the Shenzhen Futian District People's Court on Thursday, reports Guangzhou Daily.

Liu, the plaintiff, earns a commission for introducing prospective guests to hotels. He testified that he had struck a deal with a traveller and was taking him to the hotel when Xie, who runs a competing business, intercepted them and offered a lower rate.

Before Liu could finish saying, "Then my hotel room is free," he was hit on the head with a plastic stool, Liu said.

In the ensuing struggle, Xie pulled down Liu's trousers and grasped his sex organ. And she refused to release it even after Xie stopped struggling and leaned back against a wall to hide his bare buttocks.

Amid a volley of wolf whistles and catcalls, hundreds of people gathered to watch the spectacle. Liu was not freed until police were called to the scene.

Liu said he suffered great psychological trauma because of the incident - he has lost all interest in sex and his acquaintances cannot stop joking about him.

He is demanding 20,000 yuan (US$2,410) in compensation for mental anguish.

Xie, on the other hand, attributed her actions to self-defence - Liu had overpowered her in the fight, she said, and that was the only way she could protect herself
