A pet monkey's cry of alarm helped its owner save a woman from being abducted by a man in Suining, Sichuan Province, reports Huaxi Metro News.

At about 11 pm, Yang Hongyun's monkey began to scream. According to previous experience, Yang knew something strange must be going on outside.

Armed with an empty beer bottle, Yang walked out of his house to see a woman struggling with a man.

Yang threw down the bottle, which burst loudly on the rocks, and the man ran away instantly.

The woman told Yang she had been abducted by a man from Nanchong and was about to be sold to another man in the countryside.
