Lightning suspends metro line

Service on Metro Line No 2 was suspended for 20 minutes after lightning
struck the rails during Monday's thunderstorm.
The incident occurred at around 6:50 pm as the train left Longyang Lu
station.
The train was pulled back into the terminal and the passengers were
evacuated. No one was injured.
Meanwhile, the storm plunged part of the Pudong District into darkness by
damaging at least 50 electrical substations. Citizens in the Beicai and Sunqiao
areas of the Pudong District said the power was cut at 6:00
pm.
