The Kodak Cinema in Shanghai announced recently that anyone with a September birthday may visit its Super Cinema World next month to see a film for free, on condition that he or she bring along another paying customer, Shanghai Express reports.

Meanwhile, a representative from the UME Cineplex Shanghai said they would not cut their price of 60 yuan (US$7.20) per ticket. The Yonghua Cinema has not said whether it would match or try to beat Kodak's deal.

The Shanghai Film Centre said the Kodak Cinema's action would not affect them since their prices were the lowest in Shanghai.
