Flu monitor facilities
( 2003-09-02 10:55) (China Daily)

Six Guangzhou hospitals have been designated as "flu monitor facilities" charged with keeping an eye out for possible outbreaks, reports Guangzhou Daily.

Guangzhou's Sanitation Bureau requires the hospitals to monitor patients who run fevers higher than 38 degrees Celsius, exhibit respiratory disease symptoms or work with animals.

On-spot inoculation services will be offered to school teachers and students, sanitation workers, transport workers and other susceptible people between September and November every year, before the city's peak flu season, which runs from November to April, begins.
