Firefighters in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, accomplished a great deal on Monday, including removing 15 bees' nests throughout the area, reports Sichuanonline, a website featuring articles from local newspapers.

At about 10 am, the fire department received a call from a farmer in Cuqiao Village asking it to get rid of three bees' nests from his courtyard.

Firefighters wiped them out with blasts of water from their hoses.

Firemen also removed a 30-centimetre-wide bees' nest outside the window of a resident's third-floor flat.

The flat owner's year-old son had to be hospitalized a few days earlier after being stung by a bee.
