Infectious disease from tainted tattoo ( 2003-09-04 13:39) (China Daily)
A young man is believed to have contracted hepatitis B at an unlicensed
tattoo parlour, reports Shenzhen Legal Daily.
Li, who works in Shenzhen's Henggang Town, said he rang the number printed on
a flyer advertising a "tattoo service" two weeks ago and was directed to a
residential flat.
He had a dragon tattooed on his arm but it became infected a few days later.
A factory-organized physical examination found he had contracted hepatitis B.
In a check-up just one month earlier, he was given a clean bill of health,
Huang said. Doctors believe the tattoo needles were probably
contaminated.
