Police 'bag' thief who abandoned goods

A young man who broke into a
grocery store and enjoyed a hearty meal there was later caught carrying more
spoils on Wednesday, Beijing Times reports.
At about 5:45 am, a patrolman spotted the young man carrying a huge sack, but
he hurried away as the police van pulled up beside him, leaving the bag behind.
The patrolman found more than 10 boxes of brandname cigarettes and some cash in
the sack.
The man later confessed that he had broken into a roadside grocery and
satisfied his empty stomach. He said he had failed to find a job in Beijing and
had run out of money.
After wandering the streets for three hours, he turned himself in at the
police station.
