A man killed himself by jumping in front of a speeding freight train after hacking his wife to death with a kitchen knife on Monday evening, reports Shanghai Morning Post.

Some time after Wang's first wife died in May 1999, he met and married Chen.

Half a year later, Chen discovered that Wang was secretly giving money to the daughter he had with his first wife, which he had previously promised to hand in to Chen.

Chen behaved coldly to Wang after that and frequently cursed him.

At about 7 pm on September 8, Wang and Chen began quarrelling about money problems and eventually started hitting each other.

The enraged Wang then stabbed Chen to death with a kitchen knife. After leaving a note that read, "I am a murderer," he jumped in front of a moving freight train at about 11 pm the same night.
