A woman and her son escaped from three robbers who fell asleep in their flat after a smooth break-in, reports Guangzhou Daily.

The woman and her son were hanging onto the anti-burglary bars on a fourth-floor window in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

After firefighters pulled them to safety, the woman pointed to a flat and said three robbers were sleeping inside.

The three jobless men from Shaoguan entered the flat just as the woman's son was opening the door after returning home from school on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

When the woman came home that evening, she was bound and left in a bedroom, as her son had been, after being forced to reveal her bank card PIN.

Obviously pleased and tired, the three robbers cooked themselves a big meal with food from the refrigerator, took showers, washed their clothes and watched television - before falling asleep on the sofa.

The woman and her son then struggled loose and climbed out of the bedroom window.

Despite the commotion outside, the robbers did not wake up until policemen stormed in to arrest them.
