China holds first sports sciences seminar for disabled

China's first ever national sports sciences seminar for the disabled opened here on Sunday, two days before the opening of the 6th national games for the disabled in the Jiangsu provincial capital.

Attending the four-day seminar are more than 70 specialists from across the country. Among them are researchers from universities and colleges and coaches and referees.

The organizers had received a total of 92 papers from Chinese provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. They involve such topics as the development on China's sports for the disabled, the management of competitions and officiating of events.

The seminar is jointly organized by the China Disabled Persons' Federation and the China Sports Sciences Society.
